Psychiatric Assessment & Diagnostic Evaluations
The initial evaluation process begins with an appointment with our psychiatrist. During this time, Dr. Sayah will evaluate the role and impact of mental health issues in your life, such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and mood swings as a successful mental health treatment requires a unique and individualized approach.
Depending on the recommended treatment plan, medication may be prescribed and other components of a recovery strategy can be discussed. Follow-up appointments are recommended depending on the treatment given.
Medication Management
Medications can be an effective and needed component of a treatment plan, particularly when used in conjunction with psychotherapy. There are a number of safe, FDA-approved medications that are effective for a variety of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and insomnia. Under the care of professionals who understand the risks and benefits of medication, these may be used to relieve acute symptoms in a time of crisis or manage long-term quality of mental health.
Research has shown that both psychiatric medications and therapy are valid treatments, and in more severe cases the combination of medications and therapy is more effective than either treatment alone. Our goal is to work with our clients to achieve relief of troubling symptoms quickly, and then discuss a long term treatment plan that may or may not include medications managed carefully through a mental health professional. We work with clients using a comprehensive treatment plan to find the mix of resources and tools which will be beneficial, including medication management based on client feedback.
Telehealth
SayMed Psychiatry believes convenience has an impact on mental health, which is why we cater to both in-person and online appointments. This allows you to skip travel/commute time, taking time off from work or school, all while still receiving your prescriptions when you want them.
What is Telehealth?
With life becoming so fast paced, it is increasingly harder to take care of our physical and mental selves. We know that everyone leads busy day to day lives whether it’s dealing with school, kids, work, etc., telehealth is a way to take care of ourselves while maintaining the fast paced life we all lead.
Telehealth is the use of video and audio technologies to support virtual appointments services between healthcare providers and their clients. You can have your visit with our psychiatrist or psychotherapist from the comfort of your home or office.
How do we provide our services from anywhere you want to be? Well, our office’s default telehealth platform is Zoom. Zoom is a secure, HIPAA-compliant video conferencing application that is device friendly. The Zoom application can be used on your mobile device, tablet or computer and this is how we will be able to treat you virtually.
